INSITE - General Description

We have three specialized opportunities for you to choose from:

1. Engineering Associate

Here are some examples of tasks you may expect in your new Engineering Associate role:

  • Work under the direction of Senior Staff to support project management and design duties, including but not limited to providing information to complete engineering calculations and documents.
  • Work under the direction of Senior CAD Technologist to prepare CAD drawings.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed design associated with the Municipal Infrastructure and Land Development projects which include roads, sewers, watermain, site grading, site layout, stormwater management systems and site servicing.
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with project team, clients, and approval agencies.

 

The following qualifications and criteria are required:

 

Technical

  • You must have a bachelor of civil engineering degree, or be a Student enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited University.
  • Be familiar with MS Office (word and excel).
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills.

 

Soft Skills

  • Possess strong analytical and detail-oriented skills. 
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritize, manage deadlines and multi-task. 
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Interpersonal skills which foster positive environment.

 

Standard Office Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm; Monday-Friday.

Location: Engineering Associate role may work in the Kingston office or hybrid, determined upon work requirements.

2. Engineering Technician

Here are some examples of tasks you may expect in your new Engineering Technician role:

  • Work under the direction of Senior CAD Technologist to prepare CAD drawings.

  • Develop preliminary and detailed design drawings associated with the Municipal Infrastructure and Land Development projects which include roads, sewers, watermain, site grading, site layout, stormwater management systems and site servicing.

  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with project teams.

  • You must have a diploma in civil engineering or be a full-time student enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited College.
  • Be familiar with MS Office (word and excel).
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills.

3. Construction Inspection Support

Here are some examples of tasks you may expect in your new Construction Inspection Support role:

  • Shadow seasoned construction inspector.

  • Prepare daily construction inspection reports.

  • Review contractor payment requests.

 

The following qualifications and criteria are required:

 

  • You must have a diploma in civil engineering or be a full-time student enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited College.
  • Be familiar with MS Office (word and excel).
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A valid “G” Drivers license in good standing.
  • Possess safety boots, hard hat and safety vest.
  • Previous office, labour, or volunteer experience is an asset.

 

Working Hours: Monday-Friday during construction activities as required.

Location: Work will be onsite at various construction locations, mostly in the County of Prince Edward.
